When I post my haiku blog to facebook I usually write a little note about the photo/haiku. This is what I wrote for this one.
“It’s that time of year again. The dandelion is out in full force. Did you know that when you pick the flower it will still make this puff ball of seeds? It is sure to live on and on and on. I remember the holes in my grandpa’s lawn every spring left from where the dandelion had been. Those darn weeds! I happen to love them. Dandelion is one of my favorite medicinal plants. The entire plant is edible. The leaves help to release excess water in the body and the root is a nice liver cleanser. I love the bright yellow of the flower, but I think I love its tenacity the most.”
